A fantastic school

The world’s largest windsurfing and kitesurfing school offers intensive courses for beginners and a range of courses for more experienced surfers taught by specialist multilingual monitors. We offer everything you need. You can rent windsurfing and kitesurfing equipment on the beach or in the lagoon in front of the Meliá Fuerteventura Hotel. Jumps, speed and fun await you at Sotavento Beach.

In essence

The kitesurfing centre is located in the hotel’s idyllic palm garden, and the windsurfing centre is just 200 metres away. Both provide relaxation areas protected from the wind, fresh-water showers, a surveillance and rescue service, changing rooms, a beach bar and free Wi-Fi.

Whether you are a beginner or have more experience, you can choose from a wide variety of classes for all levels. You can also choose between private classes or small group classes in which you can meet more people. We have the only official license to teach classes in the lagoon (depending on the tides). It’s really important for us that we do everything we do with the best equipment, making it a little easier to achieve better results for our customers. The material we use is completely renewed every 6 to 12 months. And we also only work with the best brands: NeilPryde windsurfing sails, JP and Starboard windsurfing boards, and Cabrinha kites and kitesurfing boards.

Since 1986, René Egli by Meliá has organise the Windsurfing and Kitesurfing World Championship on Sotavento Beach. Over the years we have hosted numerous famous international and Spanish surfers who all share the same passion. A magnificent sporting event with a relaxed atmosphere thanks to all the tents, food stalls and live music.
